The three-year initiative builds on two decades of joint refinement of CARIS systems including HPD, Bathy DataBASE, and HIPS and SIPS. Rather than replacement, the focus is on evolving these into next-generation cloud-based services and intuitive web applications to meet modern geospatial demands. The partnership officially began on June 9, 2025, with an on-site visit by the CARIS team to UKHO headquarters, forming part of a broader five-year enterprise license agreement.

Key enhancements include streamlining survey data ingestion, automating chart production, leveraging cloud storage, and providing user-friendly interfaces that retain rich data interaction.
