DP World Accelerates Global Expansion Through Terminal Investments and New Services in December 2025

DP World announced major investments in December 2025, including R$1.6 billion to expand Santos terminal capacity by 25% to 2.1 million TEUs; launched a 36-hour Dubai-Iraq sea service; opened a Queretaro warehouse for nearshoring in Mexico's nearshoring operations; unifying marine brands; and expanding short sea shipping in Canada - moves designed to improve trade efficiency and sustainability across Americas and Middle East regions. These moves facilitated greater trade efficiency and sustainability.

Santos Terminal Expansion in Brazil

On December 2, 2025, DP World approved a R$1.6 billion (US$296 million) investment to increase Santos terminal capacity by 25% and reach 2.1 million TEUs by 2028. This adds up to more than R$3 billion invested since 2013, further cementing their position as one of Brazil's premier port investors.

Fabio Siccherino, CEO of DP World Brazil, highlighted its improvements, including a new berth and expanded yard, additional reefer towers for agricultural exports, four quay cranes, 15 RTGs and 40 ITVs - which coincides with decarbonization efforts; 22 RTGs electrification has reduced CO2 by over 1,000 tons as of June 2025.

These improvements aim to better handle larger vessels, increase productivity and support Brazil sustainable logistics; nationwide expansions include six new freight forwarding offices and one multi-customer warehouse.

New 36-Hour Dubai to Iraq Maritime Service

On December 12th 2025, DP World launched a 36-hour sea link between Dubai Mina Rashid and Iraq Umm Qasr Ports to reduce costs and transit times while strengthening regional trade connectivity.

Queretaro Multi-Customer Warehouse Opens in Mexico

On December 4, 2025, DP World opened a 117,000-square-foot multi-customer warehouse at Queretaro La Bomba Industrial Park to meet Mexicos nearshoring boom for automotive and tech sectors. This facility offers enhanced 3PL services with access to Highway 57 and Queretaro Airport nearby.
