Shark Marine Technologies Inc., a premier Canadian provider of underwater technologies, was chosen by the Danish Navy for their Navigator diver-held sonar and navigation system to enhance mine countermeasures and security operations. Furthermore, Royal Navy acquired MAKO diver delivery system. These contracts indicate Shark's growing presence among global naval forces worldwide with 18 naval forces currently receiving products from this global leader.
Of late it would seem that navies and defence ministries have made substantial strides on key carrier, submarine and surface-combatant programmes in the face of regional tensions. NATO completed carrier strike integration; Brazil and Poland picked up the pace on submarine modernisation; and, on the surface side South Korea announced yet another advanced frigate.
