PyroScience Announces Winter Break; Continues Innovation of Optical Sensor Technology

PyroScience GmbH, a leading provider of optical pH, oxygen and temperature sensors is taking a holiday break from 22nd December 2025 to 2nd January 2026. PyroScience continues to develop sensor solutions for marine and laboratory environments - recently with microfluidics products as well as insertable miniprobes - making this time away an opportunity to advance sensor development even further.

Winter Operations Suspend

PyroScience GmbH announced their winter break from December 22, 2025 until January 2, 2026, which will see standard operations temporarily stop, though this closure is common during holiday periods for German sensor manufacturer.

Expanding Product Portfolio.

Recently, the company introduced new insertable miniprobes designed to measure oxygen, pH and temperature in semi-solid samples. These instruments are optimized to detect oxygen micro-heterogeneities with cannula insertion capabilities for maximum detection efficiency. For simultaneous pH measurements across 5.5-7.5 range, use pHIMP500-PK6.5; while T miniprobe TPIMP500 provides temperature compensation and direct temperature measurements directly in semi-solid matrix media.

PyroScience recently expanded their reach into microfluidics research methods with the launch of microfluidic sensors designed for microfluidic applications, expanding their presence. Furthermore, the company offers its FirePlate-O2 reader for high-throughput oxygen monitoring in 96-well plate formats supporting small scale cell cultivation and respiration rate measurements.

Industry Presence and Applications

PyroScience was established in 2011 as a premier provider of opto-chemical sensor solutions for laboratory and underwater environments. Their product portfolio features standalone instruments such as the FireSting-GO2, PC-operated laboratory systems such as FireSting-O2, PRO models and AquapHOx loggers/transmitters which serve applications including oceanic pH measurements, coral studies, respiration rate analysis and benthic oxygen flux monitoring using aquatic eddy covariance techniques.

PyroScience maintains an international distribution network encompassing North America, Europe, Asia, Australia Oceania and Africa to serve international marine research institutions and industrial sectors requiring precision optical sensing solutions.
