SubC Imaging Increases Market Reach through Partnership With STR and Launch of Rayfin Uplink Camera System

SubC Imaging announced its exclusive global partnership with STR and a new product launch with the Rayfin Uplink camera in November 2025. The STR partnership provides advanced optical technology for inspecting offshore infrastructure. The Rayfin Uplink camera offers HD and 4K imaging to legacy ROV Fleets without requiring significant infrastructure changes.

SubC Imaging and STR Form Exclusive Global Partnership

SubC Imaging announced in November 2025 an exclusive global partnership with STR to deliver enhanced optical solutions and real-time inspection data across various maritime sectors. The collaboration meets increasing industry demands for advanced inspection capabilities within oil & gas, offshore wind, marine science, power & communications and defense markets.

SubC Imaging will bring its camera systems, digital video recording products, lights and lasers together with STR's in-house cameras, cathodic protection equipment, flooded member detection technology and global rental network to offer clients complementary state-of-the-art products and inspection services for platforms and vessels both manned and unmanned. This partnership offers clients cutting-edge products and inspection services.

Chad Collett, SubC Imaging CEO, highlighted how their partnership exemplifies their dedication to making advanced optical and data solutions accessible to offshore markets around the world. Steve Steele of STR was quick to point out how this collaboration allows both firms to direct opportunities towards each other and focus on providing superior optical inspection solutions to clients.

Rayfin Uplink Camera Transforms Legacy ROV Fleets

SubC Imaging unveiled their Rayfin Uplink camera technology in late November 2025, giving operators access to HD and 4K imaging on remotely operated vehicles they already owned. The system creates a direct digital link between Rayfin Uplink ROV cameras and topside control units or laptops without costly infrastructure upgrades being necessary.

Rayfin Uplink makes use of existing coax or twisted pair cabling that already exists on many ROV tethers, enabling established fleets to achieve modern imaging performance without costly fiber optic upgrades. Furthermore, its built-in single channel DVR recording enables operators to leverage existing camera systems more effectively.

Rayfin Uplink was designed for energy, marine science, environmental, defense and subsea engineering teams, providing operators with an easy way to record, save and review digital video and still images topside for inspection, documentation and efficient workflows. Available for sale directly through SubC Imaging as well as rental exclusively through STR - making advanced imaging technology accessible across a range of subsea operations.
