Strengthen North American Presence Through Canadian Expansion
Rapp Hydema recently established Rapp Hydema Canada Marine Incorporated to meet growing demand for deck machinery manufacturing and hydraulic servicing services in Vancouver, British Columbia. This subsidiary will focus on producing and servicing Rapp winches and Launch-and-Recovery systems (LARS) specifically for Canadian market.
According to Rapp U.S. President Johann Sigurjonsson, this expansion was driven by two primary factors: expanding government research vessel contracts and rising demand for hydraulic servicing capabilities in Vancouver area. This strategic move complements recent North American growth initiatives like setting up Rapp Hydra Pro crane company as well as adding a 3,200 square-foot warehouse facility near Seattle that supports research vessel contracts expansion.
Strengthening Research Vessel Market Position
Rapp Hydema has held onto their leading position in the research vessel market since 1977, providing deck machinery to government and scientific research organizations across the globe. Their specialized winch systems and deck handling equipment make them a go-to supplier for demanding research vessel applications that demand precise control and reliability.
Rapp Hydema's Canadian affiliate establishment reflects their overall strategy to localize manufacturing and service capabilities in key markets. By positioning operations closer to customers in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest, Rapp Hydema hopes to improve service response times as well as strengthen relationships with research institutes and vessel operators across Canada.
