Euronav Advances CMB.TECH Acquisition and Fleet Renewal Strategy

Euronav recently signed a $1.15 billion deal to acquire CMB.TECH, strengthening their decarbonization efforts with 106 low-carbon vessels. CMB.TECH shareholders approved this transaction, marking an important step toward more sustainable shipping practices. It follows on VLCC sales to Frontline as well as new ammonia-fueled and secondhand vessel orders from Euronav.

CMB.TECH Approves Interim Dividend Amid Euronav Fleet Modernization Campaign

CMB.TECH (formerly Euronav) declared an interim dividend of $0.05 on December 17, 2025, to be paid in mid-January 2026, signalling confidence in its financial situation following the takeover. Euronav also accelerated its fleet renewal activities through the sale of older VLCCs, and the acquisition of eco-VLCCs and two Suezmax tankers from Ocean Yield that are compliant with the decarbonization strategy.
