COSCO Shipping Secures Record 87-Vessel Order and Advances Hainan FTP Integration

China COSCO Shipping Corporation and CSSC inked an historic RMB 50 billion agreement for 87 new vessels on December 8th 2025, making this order one of the largest orders ever placed to modernize their fleet. On December 18th COSCO also strengthened Hainan Free Trade Port operations due to a newly introduced Island-wide Special Customs Operation system and increased logistics efficiency and global connectivity.

CSSC Advances Green Shipping Leadership with Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership and Research Vessel Deployment

China State Shipbuilding Corporation continues to dominate world shipbuilding with hydrogen energy partnerships and launching the next generation of a research vessel. CSSC signed a framework agreement with REFIRE on marine fuel cell development, and unveiled new hydrogen equipment products with the aim of achieving commercial mass production by 2027.
