Aquatec Group Highlights Strategic Partnerships and Subsea Monitoring Technologies

Aquatec Group Ltd has solidified their position as leaders in subsea monitoring and oceanographic instrumentation through several 2025 developments, such as exhibiting leak detection and subsea integrity solutions at Norway's Subsea Innovation Day; entering a strategic sediment-measurement partnership agreement with Sequoia Scientific; expanding representation across Europe; and signing a distributor agreement in Japan for AQUAscat suspended sediment profilers.

Aquatec to Showcase Leak Detection Technologies at Subsea Innovation Day 2025

Aquatec Group Ltd participated in Subsea Innovation Day 2025 at Akrehamn in Norway alongside local subsea specialist RTS to present its selection of subsea monitoring solutions, with particular attention given to LEAKlog leak detection system, developed to detect hydrocarbon and chemical leakage in subsea infrastructure such as pipelines, manifolds and templates.

Aquatec showcased how LEAKlog integrates fluorescence, acoustic, and thermal sensing techniques for real time leak monitoring in challenging offshore environments. Leveraging their offshore instrumentation expertise (including pressure logging up to 4000m water depth and 1200 bar process pressure for hydrotest operations), Aquatec demonstrated how this approach meets industry demand for proactive integrity management on subsea assets as operators seek higher reliability with reduced environmental risk.

Aquatec's participation at Subsea Innovation Day 2025 highlighted its dedication to collaboration with technology partners and operators across North Sea and Norwegian offshore sectors. By showcasing field proven leak detection and integrity monitoring solutions at an innovation forum, the company intended to help contractors, engineering houses, and operators upgrade monitoring capabilities on both brownfield and new subsea developments.

Strategic Partnership between Sequoia and CEMEX for Advance Sediment Measurement.

Sequoia Scientific Inc, Aquatec Group Limited and TECPRIME joined forces in 2025 to enter into a strategic licensing partnership for key sediment measurement technologies. This agreement ensured the future use of widely utilized LISST ABS and LISST AOBS instruments used for providing acoustic backscatter measurements of suspended sediment concentration for oceanographic, coastal and riverine studies.

Under this licensing arrangement, Aquatec and TECPRIME assume responsibility for manufacturing, further development and global distribution of these instruments; Sequoia provides complementary optical and laser diffraction technologies. Both partners saw this deal as a means to maintain continuity for existing users of LISST ABS and LISST AOBS devices across research, dredging and marine engineering markets while at the same time creating opportunities to advance new product enhancements using Aquatec's expertise in low power data logging technologies.

Aquatec's cooperation is in line with their robust suite of suspended sediment instruments, such as acoustic profilers and optical turbidity loggers for deployment in oceans, estuaries, rivers and lakes. By including the LISST ABS line into their offering, Aquatec strengthens their standing as a full spectrum sediment monitoring provider for consultants, laboratories or field programs requiring co located acoustic/optical measurements to characterise particle dynamics and transport processes.

Ocean Metrics Appointment to Expand European Market

Aquatec recently announced the appointment of Ocean Metrics as its authorized representative, expanding their commercial reach within Germany, Austria and Switzerland - markets with strong demand for high quality environmental and subsea monitoring systems. Under this agreement sales of Ocean Metrics oceanographic and offshore instrumentation will be conducted along with frontline technical support in these countries.

Ocean Metrics will promote Aquatec product lines such as temperature and depth loggers, suspended sediment instruments, subsea leak detection systems and cathodic protection monitoring solutions through its partnership. The partnership's purpose is to offer local language support, faster response times and greater engagement with research institutes, government agencies and engineering firms undertaking marine science or offshore energy projects in Central Europe.

Aquatec's expansion in the DACH region furthers its long-standing partnership with universities and research organisations globally, as it hopes this representation will facilitate wider adoption of its advanced data loggers, real time telemetry systems and integrated acoustic/optical communication solutions on long-term observatories, coastal monitoring networks and offshore infrastructure surveys.

Japan Distributor Agreement Signed For AQUAscat Range

Aquatec instruments were also announced as signing a distributor agreement in Japan in 2025, specifically their AQUAscat suspended sediment profilers. Japanese representatives will offer sales support, application advice, and customer service for these AQUAscat products which are widely used in coastal engineering projects, dredging operations, sediment transport research studies, environmental impact analyses and environmental risk analyses.

AQUAscat instruments utilize multi frequency acoustic backscatter measurements to profile suspended sediment concentration throughout the water column, enabling users to quantify particle size dependent scattering behavior and resolve vertical structures within turbulent flows. They come as self-recording loggers for moored deployments or real time instruments integrated into cabled observatories and survey platforms for real time analysis.

Aquatec's expanded presence in Japan will support research institutes, port authorities and consultants working on coastal resilience, harbour maintenance and marine infrastructure development projects. Their distributor agreement represents part of their broader strategy for Asia Pacific markets where customers have an established customer base while Aquatec technology continues to thrive.

Subsea Engineering Innovations on Display in Virtual Exhibition

Aquatec has also been featured in virtual showcases of subsea engineering innovations that feature advances in remote operations and force multiplication for offshore projects. Aquatec's data logging, acoustic communication and real time monitoring systems enable reduced vessel time and more efficient data acquisition during subsea campaigns, garnering industry coverage.

Aquatec technologies integrate with remotely operated vehicles, autonomous platforms and fixed observatories to provide high resolution measurements of temperature, pressure, motion, sediment load and structural integrity. Furthermore, leak detection and cathodic protection monitoring assist operators who want to enhance situational awareness and asset integrity while minimising personnel exposure and operational costs offshore.

Aquatec's continued emphasis on virtual demonstration formats mirrors wider industry trends toward digitization and remote inspection methods in subsea and offshore sectors. By participating in such initiatives, Aquatec enhances visibility of its instrument portfolio among engineering contractors, survey companies, research users and marine market users worldwide - further solidifying its position as a specialist provider of subsea measurement, monitoring and communication solutions across global maritime markets.
